Submitedge.com – SEO scammers
April 16th Update – Submitedge contacted me in response to this post. I said if they removed my links and refunded me, I would remove their url’s from this post. Both have now been carried out. I think if you don’t have a public facing blog you will be out of luck – I could only get a reply from them after they went to Google and checked that my post was in fact ranking for brand searches…

This is a warning post about using the “link building” services from Submitedge.com.
We had a client wanting to use them for some cheap link building, but since they had a new site we decided we would test it on one of our own sites first. I will outline the results from this “ethical seo company” (their choice of words, not mine…) below.
The order was placed on 10th March for 10 one way backlinks. On the 11th someone else showed me a batch of the links that Submit Edge had placed for them. The quality was horrendous, there is no way you would want these links pointing at your site. Dropped domains, spam sites, and some of the pages having 80 outgoing links to completely unrelated pages etc. There is no possible way they are passing any benefit, and depending on circumstances there would be a real possibility of these links doing you harm.
With this in mind, I sent them this message less than 24hrs after ordering:

All of those links are absolute spam, and you are linking 80 things per page. This will do more harm than good. Please cancel my order and refund it to Paypal.

Even although they have a “100% service satisfaction” they completely ignored my reply. On the 15th March they then uploaded a report saying the job had been completed. Lets take a look at where they placed the links:
http://www.removed.info/ – pr1, 12 links in Yahoo. 52 external links on the page. Adword ads displayed from google_ad_client = “pub-removed“. They have not even bothered to use a logo, leaving “site name” on it.
http://www.removed.net/ – pr2, 25 links in Yahoo. 29 external links on the page. Adwords ads displayed from google_ad_client = “pub-removed“;. Dropped domain, proof removed. Linked to first site by same Adsense ID.
http://www.removed.com/terms-conditions.html – pr2, 120 external links. And it seems this is another dropped domain, proof removed.
http://www.removed.net/Search-Engine-Optimization.html – pr2, 30 links in Yahoo. 62 external links. Another dropped domain – their pagerank comes from unrelated links on a Thai government site, removed.
http://www.removed.com/Search_Engine_Optimization.html – pr2, 20 links in Yahoo. 100 external links. With the domain name “removed” it’ll come as no surprise this is yet another dropped domain. You can see the proof here, removed.
http://www.removed.org – pr3, 50 outgoing links. Dropped domain. I guess the whole “don’t have any content on the homepage at all, just stuff it with paid links only” thing kind of gives that away.
http://removed.com/ – pr3, 73 external links. Yup, another dropped domain. Proof removed.
http://www.removed.com/ – pr2, 29 links in Yahoo. 90 external links. They also seem to have removed all the real content to make room for more paid links. Dropped domain, used to be a web design company – look at the proof removed.
Do these look like the type of sites you would want linking to you? Bear in mind the external links numbers above are just the number of links on that specific page – every other page on the website has similar numbers of links also.
We decided these links were potentially far more harmful than good, we definitely did not want to be associated with this type of link building. This was sent to Submit Edge on the 15th March:
Those links are all absolute garbage – please remove them and refund the money. I think those links potentially do me more harm than good, I want this resolved quickly. Thanks
They simply chose to ignore this message. So much for their “ethical seo” and “100% service satisfaction”!
We left it another 9 days after that, then sent them this:
Are you not even listening to me? Fine if you want to steal the money, you can keep it. I want those links removed immediately.
No reply yet again.
I really did not want to get involved in outing specific companies or url’s, but I felt we had no choice here. This company are using tactics that have a very high chance of leading to penalties. I would not like to get a lot of these type of links, or to point them at a new or weak site.
Even when offered the opportunity to keep the cash paid ($170) and remove the links, Submit Edge refused to do so. If they had agreed to remove the links when I asked, you would not be reading this post right now.
If you are considering using submitedge.com for link building, I would advice you to read the above very carefully and reconsider. Do not fall victim to the submitedge.com scam…
This is exactly the type of scam service that gives the SEO industry a bad name.

I feel for these cowboys too. But as you say, unless you have a blog that you can write it on, you won’t get a reply. I complained multiple times, but these Indian scammers just stole all my money. They are not USA based like they claim, they are just simply Indian spammers.
I run an ecommerce site, I don’t have the luxury of using an seo blog to force a reply/refund from the scam artists. The problem there is they know that I am an ecommerce site, I cannot exactly blog there that I was trying to buy links (that were advertised as “ethical”) and then get sold a lot of dropped domain, off topic spam.
Quite a good racket, when there is nowhere that 99% of your victims can go. Sure, you managed to get a refund but I doubt submit edge care – you caused a scene and got what you deserved back, how many other peoples dollars are never going to be returned?
At least people might see this and be less tempted to get scammed
Saw this from hobo blog. Aren’t you a bit of a hypocrite to be slagging a company off like this and branding them unethical? Be they scammers or not. You’ve just exposed yourself as “unethical” in your practice of buying links!
The unethical part of what they are doing comes from refusing to disclose the risk involved – all of their sites are dropped domains from off topic niches. Then they compound this by refusing to remove the links when asked.
A client asked me to test the service for them before they went ahead and used it on their own site, which is exactly what we done.
As I said on Hobo, if clients want to buy links, then the risks need explaining to them then they can decide whether to do it or not. I do not think its unethical to buy links – I do think its unethical to sell them in such a risky manner, without being up front as to the risks you are exposing them to.
I was thinking on using their services…but not now. ..I hate those sort of scam, but not the scam itself, but when you told they refuse to answer your emails…Im tired of indian scammers, and 3 way link farms…

Hello, I was wondering has anyone figured out how to get good relevant quality backlinks. I just set up my website recently and I am having the hardest time finding a service or good valid information that will help me. everyone is so busy trying to make money from you,it’s hard to get an honest answer.

My client insisted on using them for a link building campaign last week, and her debit card that we used to pay for the order was fraudulently used around the world with 10 minutes of placing the order for £203 worth of services, totalling £8000 of fraud, we only new as we were contacted by the Bank, Nat West, UK Police and Fraud Squad who told us that Submit Edge are under heavy investigation for multiple cases of fraud with customers credit card details, and that the authorities in the US and UK are pressing to have them shut down!!!

I agree to admin that submitedge “niche link building” is not so effective, reason why its not effective is that they don’t monitor the links. As an SEO I understand that its stuff to manage other webmasters integrity but if they monitor those links they can replace it if links are taken down.
Also as Admin said they should disclose for “niche link building”‘ more clarification and terms. As far as other services are concerned I think they are very good in that.
If you are looking at buying “niche link building service” just ask them if they’ll monitor the link at least for 6 months. If they say no than don’t’ buy “niche link building” and go ahead with other services.
As far as Daniel is concern I don’t agree that they can do credit card fraud, cause they don’t take any credit card detail on site. I’ve been paying via credit card to them since last 3 years and I always fill the details on 2co secured page. I thin you should get in touch with 2co to resolve the issue.
Archie what you mean when you say that their niche link building is not effective and other services are good? Also if they are not effective than why you’ve been using them from last 3 years?
Hey Chirs, Yes I’m getting lot of my link building work done by them since last 3 years and my only issue is “niche link building service” offered by them. They are effective in submission and content based link building work but they don’t have any ways of monitoring “niche link building” work.
And I also recently saw they’ve discontinued “niche lin building service”. When I spoke to them couple of days back they acknowledged that they were not able to manage the quality of the service as it involved other webmaster to keep link live and thats the reason why they’ve discontinued the service. But I feel all other services are good.
I think Admin has done good job of having them realize that if you offer 10 good service and 1 is not acceptable, it should be taken out.

Yes submit edge is a rip off. I paid this SEO scam firm 400 dollars prepay and had them write one article about home loans. and have not received the work. PayPal is also a scam company because they wont refund money when your buying a service. This is even if you got an email from the vendor saying that they are ripping you off. Dont ever use paypal or submit edge. P.S. Submit edge is for the knife that this company sticks in your gut before ripping you off.
Also all companies seo or tech from India are ruthless and void of talent. Synapse India is the worst of them and submit edge is a close second.

I just purchased there Link Wheel Service … I spent $200. I swear they better not be giving me spammy links… I’m just 15 and $200 was a lot of money… arggh! I sent them a message telling them that if the links are spam domains, they may as well refund me INSTANTLY.
Please confirm whether or not there link wheel service is legit.. I cannot loose $200.
Seriously I hope I’m not out of my $200… any advice?

You guys have more money than sense. Any monkey can be trained to build links. A quick visit to any internet marketing forum and you will see a massive range of link building services from individuals at a fraction of the costs of these companies. Just because someone doesnt have a website doesnt mean you cant do business with them. And just because someone does have a website, it doesnt mean you wont get ripped off.
I would be interested in hearing the result of your conversation with their customer care. Did you contact them?
