Krispy Kreme website hacked

I was working on my website and thought I had a coding error – when you click the link to go to the Krispy Kreme donut company, you get redirected to a Canadian pharmacy offering all sorts of prescription free medicine.

If you go to the Krispy Kreme page on my site, click the “visit merchant” and you will be redirected to health-area.com/group.php?group_id=131 – a page offering Viagra, Cialis, and “Viagra Professional” which is apparently some super strength version. If anyone has tried that one, feel free to leave a comment how it worked out…

Typing in krispykreme.co.uk straight into a browser window appears to take you to the correct site. There are some hacked pages listed in Google, so I’m not exactly sure how this working since I am not a hacker! If anyone has a better understanding, let me know below and I’ll update the post (with a link).

Clicking to visit the homepage from Google search results takes you to the legit homepage, but when you visit it from my own site, it is the hacked version, so presumably they are looking at the referrer before deciding what page to send you to.

This has been going on for more than a week so I am not sure if Krispy Kreme are even aware. If you’d like to thank me for bringing it to your attention, I’ll take a free box of Cinnamon Apple Filled, thanks :)
