Fascinating post. Whatever happened? I don't think it's fair however to accuse the guy before he gets to plead his case. Our law system is so backwards - "innocent until proven guilty" - not really the case. You MUST give up your passport, MUST post bail, MUST attend court and pay for court costs, defend yourself, etc...and then hope that you and your lawyers have the skills to prove your innocent. You can get eaten alive nowadays. Maybe they are guilty - but ebay has cash to twist and turn this case upside down.

Very interesting post......just goes to show how some people think they can get away with things, only to find out it all blows up in their face at a later date. I think it's a shame for those people whom are trying to make an income in the affiliate marketing sector, as situations like this will no doubt mean more checks, red tape and (possibly) even more hard work from the affiliates point of view to promote and develop a merchants product or service.

Please keep the "name" as a nickname or actual name - if I let people start using anchor text links, its a slippery slope and becomes a nightmare to police. I've edited your link.

From what I recall, Digitalpoint was only making $20k a month or so in Adsense. So its not hard to see why the temptation was there to make $1m/month, especially if what Shawn has now said is true and Ebay were effectively letting him do it.

WOW, that's insane..

I've never really followed the story of Shawn vs eBay, but came across this looking for another said lawsuit..
I don't understand why he would've been doing these things considering he owns one of the biggest forums on the internet?! Surely he must be making his dough through that! I really don't understand some people's greed!

This is a great post, I'll be watching to see if you post any results of the August 19th hearing!

Thanks a lot,
Chuckun
